about

STORY BEHIND THE SONG...
This song came to me quicker than any other song I'd ever written. It started with my good friend Tim Devlin who emailed me a bass groove idea. As soon as I received it, the lyrics came pouring out right away. Definitely a song that was written in a very specific moment. During that time I knew of two people that had received crucial life or death news from their doctor and watched both of them in the midst of trial find something deeper to hold on to. The song was done in 10 minutes and I sent it back to my friend Tim who wasn't expecting it so quickly. I've been sitting on this song for awhile and felt compelled to release it now.

lyrics

LYRICS
the doctor says you got two years left
and your hope falls into his hands as he walks out the door
the beat feels different in your chest
can't help but wonder now if this is your final breathe

and its not your hands
and its not the hands that are in control
what you believe is what you are
so what do you believe in

will it fall down
will it stand up
in the end that's never ending

we build our fortress in the sand
and love our lives but keep them in our shallow hands
what if the wind decides to blow
and the earth decides to shake deep down below

and its not your hands
and its not the hands that are in control
what you believe is what you are
so what do you believe in

will it fall down
will it stand up
in the end that's never ending
